The NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Damongo Constituency and a Deputy Chief of Staff of the Akuffo Addo’s government, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor Friday, 29th November, 2019 donated 100 dual desks to the Larabanga Junior High School Block B otherwise known as Wulugu School.
In a colourful ceremony at the school premises to hand over the desks to the management and pupils of the school, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor stated that his presentation of the desks to school was a response to the request made to him by the headteaacher of the school, Mr. Saaka Dawuda Jaward and the that he was moved by unfortunate pictures his elder brother, Dr. Ahmed Jinapor took of pupils of the school lying on the floor and others sitting on the ground for lessons when he came to supervise a teacher intern in the school.
He advised the pupils not to relent on their oars despite all odds but study hard to achieve their aims and objectives. He also admonished them to take a clue from him and others because it is through education he is a lawyer and also occupying his current position in government. He opined that he faced similar odds when he was a pupil in Fufulso Presby Primary School where he had to sit on the floor for lessons.
He added that it is a duty incumbent on all politicians especially members of parliament to use part of their share of their common fund to provide things of this nature and not leave that to only the central government.
Mr. Bore Jonas, Assistant Director of Education in charge of Planning who spoke on behalf of the District Director of West Gonja District Educational Directorate out of joy thanked Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor for the gesture. He said that the donation was timely and will be very helpful to the school. He narrated that the school was initiated by a Philanthropist called Mr. Karim. He added that the school was finally completed by his son because Mr. Karim died but without furniture. He bemoaned the inadequacy and the absence of desks Larabanga Primary Block B and called on Lawyer Abu Jinapor to come to the aid of the school.
